Lead Better HQ vs. Kit (formerly ConvertKit)

Kit is built for creators, and it's excellent at it. If your practice grew out of a newsletter and a podcast, here's when it's time for a system built around your patients instead.

A lot of practitioners started on ConvertKit, now called Kit. Maybe you had a podcast, a blog or a free guide, and Kit was the creator-friendly way to grow a list.

It still is. But somewhere along the way, your list stopped being an audience and started being patients. That changes what you need from the tool.

    The quick answer

Keep Kit if your email is mostly content: a newsletter, a podcast list, a free guide, digital products. And keep health details out of it.

Choose Lead Better HQ if your email needs to follow your patients, not just your content: inquiries, bookings, missed appointments and people who haven't been back. All HIPAA compliant and connected to Practice Better.

    Where Kit shines

Kit is built for people who make things. Newsletters, sequences, tagging, landing pages, forms and digital products, with clean visual automations that are easy to follow. The free plan and 14-day trials of Creator and Pro, no card needed, make it easy to start.

If your practice has a content arm, like a podcast or a weekly letter, Kit does that job very well.

What a health practice runs into

HIPAA isn't addressed. We couldn't find any HIPAA or BAA statement on Kit's pricing page as of October 2026. A podcast list is one thing. Anything about someone's health, symptoms or care belongs in a tool that covers it. See Lead Better HQ vs. your current tool stack for the full HIPAA breakdown across common practice tools.

Kit can't see your practice. It isn't connected to Practice Better, so it doesn't know who booked, who missed an appointment or who finished a program in March. Someone has to tag people by hand.

It's an email tool. No pipeline, no scheduling, no DM inbox. The operational side of your practice still lives across other tools.

What Lead Better HQ does differently

Lead Better HQ is the operational layer around your Practice Better account, HIPAA compliant with a BAA included. Email lives next to text, Instagram and Facebook DMs, forms and your pipeline, and it's connected to Practice Better through Lead Better Connector.

That means follow-up can track what's actually happening: layered reminders, missed call text back and a path back for past patients. Your newsletter can live there too.

Curious what's slipping between your tools? We'll go through your business the way a new patient does and send you a short video of what we find.

Lead Better HQ is an independent company and an official Practice Better partner. HIPAA details come from Kit's own website as of October 2026 and aren't legal advice.
