Practice Better Connector Hub vs. Lead Better Connector
Two connectors, very similar names, different jobs. One moves data between apps. The other powers a whole operational system. Here's how to pick.
Nicole Harlow
Practice Better launched Connector Hub in September 2026, and we've had a lot of the same question since: "Wait, is that the same thing as Lead Better Connector?"
Fair question. The names are close and both connect Practice Better to other tools. But they work at different levels, and the right answer depends on what you want to happen after the data moves.
The quick answer
Use Connector Hub if you want simple syncs between Practice Better and a tool you already use, like adding new clients to a Mailchimp audience or sending invoices to QuickBooks.
Use Lead Better Connector if you want Practice Better connected to a full operational system: follow-up, reminders, rebooking, reactivation and inquiries handled in one HIPAA-compliant place.
Plenty of practices could use both.

Where Connector Hub shines
It's a great addition to Practice Better. If your bookkeeper lives in QuickBooks or Xero, or your newsletter lives in Mailchimp, Connector Hub saves real copy-paste time. Practice Better's examples include updating a Mailchimp audience when a booking is confirmed and creating a HubSpot contact for a new client.
It's no-code, it's made by Practice Better and it's easy to switch on if you're on the Plus or Team plan.
One thing worth knowing: Connector Hub moves client details into the destination app, so check whether that app is set up for health information before you connect it. We cover the full details in our Connector Hub guide.
Where Lead Better Connector shines
A connector moves data. An operational system decides what happens next.
Lead Better Connector links Practice Better to Lead Better HQ, the HIPAA-compliant operational layer we build around your practice. It keeps tags in sync both ways, so what happens in Practice Better can trigger what happens next in Lead Better HQ, and the reverse.
That's the difference. Connector Hub will put a new client into Mailchimp. It won't notice that she stopped booking in April and do something about it. Lead Better HQ is built to notice.
Only the minimum identifying details cross the bridge. Nothing clinical, no notes, no lab results, no protocols. Those stay in Practice Better where they belong. More on how it works in how to connect Practice Better to the rest of your business.
What we see in real accounts
The most common setup we see after a practice turns on a simple sync: new clients land in the email tool... and then nothing happens. The data moved. Nobody designed what comes next.
The sync is the easy part. The welcome sequence, the follow-up after a missed appointment and the nudge for the client who hasn't rebooked are the parts that actually change the patient experience.

Lead Better HQ is an independent company and an official Practice Better partner.

Lead Better HQ vs. HoneyBook or Dubsado
HoneyBook and Dubsado are wonderful for proposals, contracts and invoices. Both also say plainly that they aren't HIPAA compliant. Here's what that means for your practice.
Lead Better HQ vs. Kit (formerly ConvertKit)
Kit is built for creators, and it's excellent at it. If your practice grew out of a newsletter and a podcast, here's when it's time for a system built around your patients instead.
